Mike Swartz
Born in 1954, in Detroit, Mike was the oldest (and only boy) of seven children. His family lived in Detroit, then Chicago, and eventually settled in Jackson, Michigan. He first new he wanted to play music when he was about 5 years old. He got a transistor radio, and hung it on the handlebars of his bike, and listened to music when he rode.
Mike took up drums in jr. high, and played in the school band, as well as various garage bands throughout high school. After high school, Mike got away from playing for close to 20 years. He joined a band again when he was 38 years old, and was (in his words) "kicked out" soon after! After leaving that band, he decided to take up playing bass. He was drafted into another band about a week after buying his first bass, and has been holding down the bottom end ever since.
